Memorial Youth Ministry
FUGE Camps are a big part of Memorial’s youth program. In the past, Memorial’s youth frequently attended Centrifuge which was a camp that primarily focused on building relationships with youth and other youth from across the county. Memorial primarily attends MissionFuge now, which are Baptist camps placed at strategic places throughout the United States where youth are able to volunteer in community building projects, non-profit care centers for the elderly, and lead children’s VBS camps.
Deep Impact Camps focus primarily on meeting the physical needs of people in the communities where the camps are strategically placed. Most of that need is construction or rehab, and in the case of some of the International Deep Impact trips the need can be construction of a worship facility or a church, similar to what our youth accomplished in Honduras.
Our Youth Group splits up into Middle School and High School Group classes on Sunday Mornings at 9:45AM. The Highschool meets in the basement, and the Middle School meets in a classroom upstairs. going through the Gospel Project which is a three-year loop that takes its readers through all of the main stories of the Bible. If you are not a part of a Sunday morning class, we would love to have you join us at 9:45AM on a Sunday morning!
We are working our way through the New Testament Gospel of John. After our free, church-wide meal at 6PM, students that are between 7th and 12th grade make their way down into the Youth room. After some time hanging out with some games and catching up, we open up our Bibles together to study John. We are usually done by 7:45PM. If your family is interested, we would love to invite you to a free meal and Bible study as we split off into different groups. We plan to be studying here through 2019.
Memorial Baptist’s youth group uses fundraisers that help support their trips such as baked potato and chili luncheons and service projects.
