Kids and Pre-Teen Ministry
RA’s AND GA’s
Each Wednesday night, Memorial has classes for both girls and boys 1st through 6th grade where they can earn badges for service projects, build derby cars, learn about global missions, and study the Bible.
For our younger children we have Wednesday nigh Mission Friends where our preschool age kids can interact in fun activities, play at some of the learning stations in our preschool rooms and learn about missions. Some of our Mission Friends classes even do mission projects for our local community!
WEDNESDAY NIGHT ACTIVITIES
Wednesday night activities include RA’s, GA’s, Mission Friends, and during holiday season children’s choir lead by our Music Minister Mary Coltrain.
Royal Ambassadors (RA) is an exciting and fun-filled missions education organization for boys in grades 1–6. RA is just one of the missions education organizations offered by Woman’s Missionary Union (WMU). WMU provides a full line of resources for RA and other age-level organizations. Through RA, boys gain a greater understanding of God’s work in the world and how they can join Him in His work.
RAs learn about the world, pray for the world, and learn how they can be used to tell others about God’s Son, Jesus. An ambassador can be defined as a messenger or representative—someone who tells or reveals truth. Royal Ambassadors seek to share the truth that Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
Girls in Action is designed to help girls in grades 1 through 6 come to faith in Christ as Savior, while making missions an important part of their daily lives. They learn what it means to live a missional lifestyle while they participate in Bible study, missions projects and engaging activities. They also have a lot of fun and build lasting memories as they “travel” to various places around the world when they learn about the work of missionaries.
The Girls in Action motto is “Go Forward!” and GAs do just that — they grow closer to God as they discover their part in His plan and they practice what they’re learning through hands-on missions opportunities. Their experiences lead to a lifelong commitment to Christ, His mission and His church.
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
Every June, Memorial’s Children’s Ministry plans and hosts a week long Vacation Bible School that teaches children the basics of salvation, Jesus, and the Bible. As a church we’ve seen so much good come from VBS in the hearts and lives of our young ones and we hope that it can be a way for those in the community that don’t have a church home to find a place to belong where their children can grow.
