Weekday Meetings & Prayer Groups
Many of our senior adults fill roles in some of our ministry teams that our younger members couldn’t fill with 9-5 jobs. Retirement frees our seniors up to pray for our church, our nation, and the prayer needs of individuals at meetings during the day. Our prayer warriors are our most valuable asset in ministry!
GEMS & Jewels
Under the leadership of the Senior Ministry Team, this group of active 55+ year olds, fellowship and eat together, travel together and support one another through a variety of activities. This group generally gets together each month for either, covered-dish meals and a speaker, or a day-trip for fellowship and a meal. Day-trips have included Bath/Belhaven, Dixie Queen Restaurant, Beaufort, New Bern, Edenton, Duke Gardens, Yoder’s Restaurant, Mike’s Farm, and Simply Natural Creamery. They have taken long distance trips to The Ark Encounter, Billy Graham Library, Sight and Sound Theater in Lancaster, PA, and The Cove, among other places. They believe, “the more, the merrier” and no trip is complete without a little ice cream.
Join us for one of our day trips to Yoder’s, the Dixie Queen, Bath, Beaufort, New Bern, Edenton, Duke Gardens, or the Simply Natural Creamery, we’d love to have you!
SENIOR SAINTS CHOIR
Our seniors have been performing our Senior Saints Choir program for many years and it is always a joy to watch!
From Our Associate Pastor
“Discipleship is an ongoing, life-long journey of becoming more like Christ and helping others do the same. We are told to “go and make disciples of all nations…teaching them to observe all things I have commanded you…”. We strive to do this in most everything we do, especially through Sunday School, small groups, and various Bible studies. God’s Word and our MBC Purpose Statement tell us that we are to “develop them spiritually”..”
